Buck of the 104.1 The Edge radio station conducted an interview with SLIPKNOT vocalist Corey Taylor prior to the band's March 4, 2009 concert at Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Watch the 10-minute chat below.
Taylor
caused a stir in January when he revealed plans to make his first solo
album sometime in the next year. The biggest question for fans was what
would happen with Taylor's other group, STONE SOUR, whose last effort, "Come What(ever) May", surfaced in 2006. Taylor told The Pulse of Radio
that he's keeping his priorities straight when it comes to new
projects. "I think what got people up in arms is the fact that, you
know, it was a question of what was going to come first, solo album or STONE SOUR?" he said. "What it comes down to is that we've put a lot of work into STONE SOUR, and for me to turn around and put out a solo album first would kind of destroy the foundation that we've built for STONE SOUR. So starting this fall, we are going to work on a new STONE SOUR album."
Taylor said he hopes to record the new STONE SOUR album next January and February, with a tentative release in the spring of 2010.
He added that he will begin work on his solo album around that time as well.
SLIPKNOT is currently in the midst of a 33-city tour that will run through mid-March.
SLIPKNOT's latest release, "All Hope Is Gone",
has been certified gold for moving more than 500,000 copies since its
arrival last August. It was also the band's first No. 1 debut on the Billboard chart.

I think if corey's gonna do a solo album.. he should get members from other bands that aren't doin alot right now and make the most badass band of all time. Drummer from Pantera Guitarest from Devildriver Bassist from Mudvayne Rythm Guitarest from Dethklok and don't sing either corey...just scream for once plz

corey SHOULD NOT do a solo album./it would make him an asshole for wanting to make money on his own without the band. with out corey tha band has no other good choices of singers. i love slipknot anyways but not stone sour [too mellow] but theres only one song from them i like wich is made of scars...

for your info... slipknot and Mushroomhead are very different. Mushroomhead isnt all mask. some of them have face paint. there music doesnt sound anywhere close to slipknots. the lyrics are diffent aswell. there are many other bands that have masks aswell but it doesnt mean shit
Slipknot,and stone sour are marvelous bands, but slipknot is ofcourse my favorite!! no doubt!!!! and the album all hope is gone is also a genious album by them, ofcourse its different, but the knot changes for every album anyway, all good on its own way. and stone sour is a nice typical nu-metal band-its all about being a true fan of slipknot- and be open for other styles!! RESPECT!!! LOVE YOU (THE NINE)

if you are gonna be bitching at people about them calling slipknot bad or fuckin terrible, you're only wasting your time. all you gotta do is simply say, "if you don't like slipknot then get the fuck off of this page" and you can be on your way. You're not tough for talking shit over the internet so yeah :) slipknot fucking rocks! i don't give a fuck if i'm a juggalo or not slipknot is always gonna be one of the best bands created!
