SLIPKNOT Likely To Tour Before New Album Is Out

Posted By: BlackGoat
Date: 25 Jul 2007
Launch Radio Networks reports: SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison recently offered up a tentative timeline for the recording of the band's fourth major label album, saying that the group would begin writing in October and get into the studio by January of 2008, with the CD likely to arrive in the spring. Jordison then told Launch that SLIPKNOT will most likely return to the road even before the disc is out. "We'll probably start touring a month or so before the album comes out, kind of the same way we did the Jagermeister Tour before 'Vol. 3' came out," he said. "So we'll do something like that as well and we're looking at right now doing some European festivals next year, but nothing's in stone yet. You know, there's still some things to be worked out, but the main thing is, you know, the fans should know that there will be another SLIPKNOT record."

GWAR Frontman Says SLIPKNOT's COREY TAYLOR Is 'A Big Whiner'

Posted By: BlackGoat
Date: 16 Jul 2007
FHMonline.com recently conducted an interview with Dave Brockie, GWAR frontman and intergalactic badass. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow:

FHMonline.com: SLIPKNOT recently told us that they're the most insane band. Why should we believe you?

Brockie: They're basically a GWAR tribute band — they dress up in these silly costumes and we appreciate that. I see no reason to denigrate SLIPKNOT or what any other band has done. But come on, we're monsters from outer space! How can they possibly compete with that?

FHMonline.com: Bands like LORDI are certainly trying, recently winning the Eurovision award for Best Song. But aren't they just GWAR-Lite?

Brockie: Well, yeah totally. They're like a kiddie version of GWAR. It's all part of one big bloody genre in rock 'n' roll history starting with Jay Hawkins and Alice Cooper and KISS. A lot of people are like, "These people are ripping you off!" But they're not ripping us off anymore than we ripped off KISS or any other band that incorporated theatrical elements into their shows.
